‘Supernatural’ Convention Coming to Los Angeles

Supernatural fans better start booking plane tickets to Los Angeles and clearing a couple of days off their schedules at the end of March. That’s because Creation Entertainment is holding a special convention called “Salute to Supernatural,” which will feature appearances by both Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki, as well as other guests yet to be announced. The event will take place on Saturday, March 29, and Sunday, March 30, though it may cost you a bundle for a chance to meet the Winchester boys.

For the time being, Creation Entertainment is only selling “Gold Weekend Packages,” which cost a whopping $439. For this price you get the best reserved seats in the theater, in-person autographs from Jared and Jensen, admission to a cocktail party with fellow Supernatural fans, admission to a Sunday brunch and charity auction featuring Jensen and Jared, and a free Supernatural gift. It may leave you with nothing but moths in your wallet, but if you’re a hardcore Winchester fan it’ll be worth the price.

If you don’t want to splurge for the Gold Weekend, all you have to do is be patient and continue checking the Creation Entertainment website. As the event gets closer they’ll offer cheaper tickets, though there’s no telling how quickly they’ll sell out.

‘Supernatural’ Stars Presented with Honorary Coin on Veteran’s Day

On Sunday, November 11, Supernatural stars Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki received an Honorary Special Forces coin from Special Forces Soldier Master Sergeant Kevin Wise. The two actors were the special guests at Creation Entertainment’s “Salute to Supernatural and Buffy/Angel,” a convention held in Schaumburg, Illinois that was attended by numerous show fans, one of whom is Wise.

While on stage with Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles, Wise told the crowd that the first two seasons of Supernatural are the most requested DVDs among armed forces personnel in Iraq and Afghanistan. Wise also said that Warner Brothers Entertainment, Inc. and Kripke Entertainment, Inc. are shipping 3,000 DVDs to the soldiers stationed in such areas.

Wise also explained that there are currently five active Special Forces Groups, one of which has its own unique coin. Wise, a member of the Special Forces Unit ODA 045 or ?€œTeam Texas,?€? said that in order to get the coin, one must either become a Green Beret or be given one by a Green Beret. Only on rare occasions have civilians been presented with the coin.

Aside from the Special Forces coin, Wise gave Ackles and Padalecki each with a letter of gratitude from General David H. Petraeus, Commander of the Multi-National Force in Iraq.

In turn, Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki gave Wise a copy of a shooting script, autographed by the cast and crew of Supernatural.

While the presentation proved touching for both the actors and the crowd, the day was also riddled with a lot of humorous antics from Ackles and Padalecki. The boys, who play brothers onscreen, spent most of their time on stage joking around with each other while answering queries from the fans.

At one point, Ackles went up on stage wearing a t-shirt with Padalecki’s picture, prompting his costar to say, “I have never been more attracted to your torso, Jensen.”

Up Close with Supernatural’s Jared Padalecki: Part 2

Here is the second part of the Jared interview from TVGuide!

Up Close with Supernatural’s Jared Padalecki: Part 2

Last week we heard from Jensen Ackles, aka Supernatural’s (Thursdays at 9 pm/ET, CW) Dean. Now it’s costar Jared Padalecki’s turn. In Part 2 of our Q&A, the actor who plays Sam Winchester talks about changing things up to shoot a Christmas movie, working with Peter O’Toole and the best thing about Supernatural.
TVGuide.com: You’re really switching gears for your next movie, aren’t you?
Jared Padalecki: Oh yeah. I’ve gone from a thriller/sci-fi/horror television show to a Christmas movie, which is about a complete 180, but that was part of the appeal ?€” to see if after 44 episodes of the show, I could go back and do something completely different. It was so fun.

TVGuide.com: You play the massively successful artist Thomas Kinkade, whose work I find a little eerie, truthfully.
Padalecki: [Laughs] He’s the best-selling artist in the world. The movie is called Home for Christmas, and it’s about his early years when he started painting to save his mom’s house. It’s been optioned as a trilogy.

Up Close with Supernatural’s Jared Padalecki: Part 1

TVGuide has an interview with Jared. Here it is:

Last week we heard from Jensen Ackles, aka Supernatural’s (Thursdays at 9 pm/ET, CW) Dean. Now it’s costar Jared Padalecki’s turn. In Part 1 of our Q&A, the actor who plays Sam Winchester talks about tonight’s “Grimm” episode, a guest star he really loves and more.
TVGuide.com: “Bedtime Stories” is a pretty special episode for you, isn’t it?
Jared Padalecki: It is. My girlfriend, Sandra McCoy, is on the show. We met on set working together, so it was neat to come full circle. Here we are four years later working together again just like when we first met.

TVGuide.com: On what project did you meet?
Padalecki: We met in Richmond, Virginia, filming a movie called Cry Wolf, which I’m still very proud of. It was one of those movies where everybody came together because there wasn’t a whole lot of money and it was just a really friendly, fun experience.
